Inspirational Quotes

Ahoi!

Lately I noticed that a lot of young people are a bit lost and don't know what to do with their lives. We're still in the middle of an economic crisis and young people are being affected by this massively. In my group of friends, I'm the only one with a permanent contract, everyone else is interim. I think everyone has a point in their life that they don't know what they want anymore and that they ask themselves "Is this everything to life?"

I've always had confidence issues when it comes to sharing my opinion or standing up for what I believe in. Definitely in professional situations, I'd rather just agree with everyone instead of defending my own thoughts. Now I have 3 years experience and I really believe that I know my area of expertise and that I'm good at what I do. Slowly but surely, I'm starting to speak up for what I believe in and I think everyone should have that confidence.

That's why I selected a few inspirational quotes which I try to live by, I love these oneliners that make you think about your life, some have actually changed my way of acting and living! Get inspired below and stay tuned for more quotes in the future!

Wanted for Spring/Summer

Hi!

Today was a beautiful sunny day and when the sun comes out it's time to prepare my Spring wardrobe. Last year I threw away a lot of clothes and my fashion collection is quite small at the moment, definitely compared to what it used to be. Instead of randomly buying items that I like, I really want to start building a solid, basic collection with qualitative, durable pieces that I can wear for a longer time.

Below I listed my wants for this season, the images come from 3 Suisses, H&M, Zara and Zalando. Feel free to comment when you want specific info!

I absolutely adore blazers and jackets. I work in marketing and by adding a blazer you can transform a simple jeans and top into a professional look, I always choose tailored blazers since they have the magic gift to make you look slim and feminine!

I rarely wear flats, let alone sneakers, and definitely feel more comfortable when wearing heels. This Spring/Summer I want to go for brightly coloured heels, combines with a basic outfit they can really become the focus point of your look.

I have always struggled finding the right jeans, definitely since the skinny took over. I have short legs and if I gain weight it's around my tummy, so low-waisted skinny jeans don't look good on me at all. I always try to go for high waists, but they're not that easy to find. I really need to invest in some good-fitting jeans, I might visit a Levi's/7 for all Mankind flagship to get it settled once and for all.

Until now, I never followed the "new tops" trends. Nowadays you see a lot of sheer tops, peplum, wide sleeves,... I never really know how to combine it without looking chubby so I always go back to plain t-shirts, but I really want something else this season, something edgy and unexpected!

If I have to choose between a dress and pants, I will always go for the dress. Ever since I was a little girl, I've been loving dresses, nothing screams Summer like a dress combined with tanned legs. I always make sure the dress is long enough, definitely for work, I prefer sophisticated over sexy and don't want to pull the skirt down all day.

I'm not really a fan of the handbags this season, I can't seem to find anything that's completely my taste. Only the 2 above caught my attention, loving the bright colours!! I really don't know which colour to choose.. Which one would you go for?

Are there any items you really want to get this season? Leave a comment, it might be something I missed! Flowers, baby animals, sunshine, pastels,... Have a great Spring season everyone! Xoxo

What's in my handbag?

Hi guys!

Long time no post :) I've been crazy busy with work and just got back from a skiing holiday, time to get back to updating!

This time I'm going to do the "What's in my handbag tag" - I haven't been tagged by anyone, I just thought it would be nice since I love knowing what's in other girl's purses as well! Isn't it funny how guys don't get that at all? My BF thinks it very, very weird that I watch purse videos all the time ;)

I have a handbag obsession, I used to buy one at least every month. I had to stop that habbit when I left my parent's house, but purses remain my big weakness. I prefer big bags, I love to carry a lot of stuff around so I'm prepared for almost every situation. This Winter I ordered the Mini Citybag Office from Zara, in the colour burgundy. Unfortunately it was a lot smaller than I expected (and used to), but I fell in love with it and after using it for 4 months I learned to carry this smaller one around.

It's a very basic, rectangular bag, without any real detailing, I'm not a fan of bags with too many extra distractions, I like to keep it simple. I was immediately drawn by the colour, a gorgeous, dark winter shade, something different than the usual black or brown.

On the inside it has an extra zipper with padding (for an iPad) and some pockets for creditcards, mobile phone,... I always but the most important things (wallets, phone,...) in the middle part with the zipper to keep it safe.

So above you can see what's in my bag, I numbered everything to keep it clear:
  1. My wallet, same colour as the handbag, this is a Michael Kors one, I bought it in Maasmechelen Village. MK has great and qualitative wallets, I have this burgundy one, a bright pink one and a brown one.
  2. A little toiletry bag, bought in H&M.
  3. Hand wipes, I have an annoying habbit of always wanting to wash my hands (I hate touching guardrails, door knobs,...) so wipes are easy and fast!
  4. My mobile phones: My personal one is a Blackberry Curve and my work phone is an iPhone 4S.
  5. Deodorant: Essential.
  6. Sunglasses from H&M, burgundy again.
  7. A hair clip, always comes in handy.
  8. iPod.
  9. Lip balm and breath spray: I love garlic ;)
  10. Lipsticks: Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté (3 Beige Ultimate - Mauve Taupe) and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine (62 Monte-Carlo)
  11. Tissues.
  12. A online banking paying thingy: To me, homebanking is the most useful thing ever, I never trusted it so I always went to the bank to pay my bills. Then the BF convinced me to try online banking and it's sooo much easier! The big disadvantage is that ordering online has never been easier.. Which is a disaster for my financial budget... But hey, I'm supporting the economy! ;)
  13. A pen: It's in there now, it'll probably disappear when I actually need it.
  14. A reusable bag that can be folded to fit into this little pocket: I ALWAYS forget to reuse my plastic bags, I put them in a drawer at home and only take them when I do the weekly groceries. So I bought this little foldable, pink bag for €1 to use for smaller, daily purchases and up until now I've been very persistent in folding it and putting it in my bag again... It's extremely handy!
That's it, I hope you liked it! Maybe I will do this tag in a video next time ;)

Have a great weekend!!  Xoxo
